Oh Be Joyful

Still haven't recovered frm this one! It took me a long time to post because it was so mind boggling. Oh Be Joyful is a steep creek just outside of Crested Butte. At first glace you would think, "I will never run this, and anybody who does in insane!" But in reality it has been run for a long time and is one of the, if not the, classic steep creek run in Colorado.

I was very, very happy to finish the run in one piece, even though my creek boat took a beating (which we have on video). When I finished this run, I thought, "Thank God I'm done with that run, now I'll never have to run it again!" And then, like a virus, about 24 hours later it's all I could think about and I really wanted to get on it again.

I've got a couple of pictures, but for the most part Tom's fiance Paige took all video. And they are LARGE video files. The main video has been edited and has everything in one clip but it's 70 MB. Needless to say, it's a large file to download. When I have time I will edit out the individual clips so they will be smaller downloads. For now I just have the main video, and if you want to wait a while, it's well worth it with 30' waterfall drops 80' slides and the like.

Large picture file (1MB) of me on the first drop, Heart Attack (suitable for framing)

Tom, bottom of avalance, about 10 seconds from swimming

The main video in Windows Media Format, edited down to 70 MB, this will take a long time to download! (Oh but it's worth it.)

My first try at cutting the main video up into individual smaller files -- the 80' Avi slide (7MB) -- style points, I ran half of it backwards!
