Penitente

Brad, Bentley and I traveled the 3 hours to Penitente for some wicked sport climbing. About the hardest I've ever climbed. The camera battery died after taking these shots the first night we got there. Climbed 5.10a "Tanks for the Huecos" and 5.11a "Not My Cross To Bear." I ended up climbing Not my Cross in the dark. Can't see your feet, crimping off half-pad monos and "huge" two finger pockets. Fun.

Clicking on the thumbnail photo will give you a photo quality picture suitable for prints, so be careful -- they are big (usually 1MB).
The canyon You can see Tanks for Huecos face, far right around the arete. And Bullet the Blue Sky (5.12a) going up the arete.

Some very small crimps
More fun crimping The "Virgin Mary" Wall. You can see the "de los Weenie Way" (5.11c) traverse coming up the lower left corner. We climbed that the next day.
